Advanced Wage and Hour Issues in Higher Education

Learning Outcomes: Increase knowledge around the Fair Labor and Standards Act (FLSA), specifically as it applies to classification of faculty (including adjunct faculty), coaches, and student-employees. Examine issues of compensatory time in higher education and how to know whether your institution is eligible to provide it in lieu of overtime. Gain insight into current or pending issues defining who is an employee at an institution with focus on graduate students and student athletes. Building off the Introductory Series, this Advanced Series training will take a closer look at wage and hour issues in higher education.
