Natasha Baker Joins AICCU Diversity Discussion on November 7, 2023

The Association of Independent California Colleges and Universities (AICCU) is holding its Annual Meeting in Sacramento on November 7 and 8, 2023.

On November 7, Natasha Baker will join a panel discussion titled “What Now? How Do We Shape Our Student Bodies to Reflect the Diversity of our State and Nation.” The panel will discuss the U.S. Supreme Court ruling that struck down the ability of colleges and universities to use the consideration of race and ethnicity in admissions decisions, what admissions considerations are allowed under the decision, and the important outreach and engagement that will need to be done to create a diverse student body that reflects the state and country. The panel will also include Jesús Andrade, Senior Director of School Partnerships & Policy at Improve Your Tomorrow; Mitchell Chang, Vice Provost of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion at University of California, Los Angeles; and Mary Lomax-Ghirarduzzi, Vice President for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at the University of the Pacific. Harry Elam, President of Occidental College will moderate the panel discussion.
